Terms of service

These Terms of Service govern your use of FieldTag ("the app"), operated by FieldTag ("we," "our," or "us"). By using FieldTag, you agree to these terms.

Use of the app

FieldTag is a tool for decoding equipment data tags using AI vision technology. You may use FieldTag for personal and professional purposes, including but not limited to HVAC service, home inspection, appliance repair, and general equipment identification.

You agree not to:

• Use FieldTag for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer or tamper with the app
• Use the app to collect or harvest data about other users
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the service

Accuracy of information

FieldTag uses AI to decode equipment tags and provides results for reference purposes only. All information provided by FieldTag should be verified against the manufacturer's original documentation before making any service, purchasing, or safety decisions.

We make no warranty that the decoded information is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. FieldTag is not responsible for decisions made based on information provided by the app.

Accounts

Some features require a FieldTag account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms or that have been inactive for an extended period.

Subscriptions and payments

FieldTag Pro is available as a monthly ($5.99/month) or annual ($49.99/year) subscription, managed through Apple's App Store. A 7-day free trial is available for new subscribers.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies
• Prices may change with reasonable advance notice

Free tier and advertising

The free tier of FieldTag is supported by advertisements served by Google AdMob. By using the free tier, you consent to the display of advertisements. Pro subscribers do not see advertisements.

User content

When you upload photos or enter information into FieldTag, you grant us a limited license to process that content for the purpose of providing the service. We do not claim ownership of your content. Equipment photos are processed in real time and are not stored permanently on our servers.

Data retention

Scan history for Pro subscribers is stored for 90 days from the date of saving. Job records are stored for 90 days from creation. Account data is retained until you delete your account.

Intellectual property

FieldTag, including its name, logo, design, and software, is owned by FieldTag and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without our written permission.

Disclaimer of warranties

FieldTag is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FieldTag shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to service decisions made based on decoded equipment data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of FieldTag after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
