FieldTag ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the FieldTag mobile application.

Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Email address and password when you create an account
• Equipment scan data including brand, model, serial number, and decoded tag information
• Device information such as device type and operating system version
• Usage data such as scan count and app activity
• Advertising identifiers for ad personalization (free tier only)
• Photos you choose to upload for tag scanning (processed and not stored permanently on our servers)

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve the FieldTag service
• Save your scan history (Pro subscribers)
• Process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions
• Send account-related communications
• Display relevant advertisements (free tier)
• Analyze usage patterns to improve app performance
• Respond to support requests

Information sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider
• OpenAI — for processing equipment tag images and text (images are not retained by OpenAI)
• Google AdMob — for serving advertisements to free tier users
• Apple — for processing in-app purchases
• Law enforcement or government agencies if required by law

Data retention

• Scan history for Pro subscribers is retained for 90 days
• Account data is retained until you delete your account
• Images uploaded for scanning are processed in real time and not stored on our servers
• You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen

Advertising

Free tier users see advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings under Privacy → Tracking.

Pro subscribers do not see any advertisements.

Children's privacy

FieldTag is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of personalized advertising

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS) and secure authentication through Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this policy. Continued use of FieldTag after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
